Penance – abstinence

Choose something that you find you use as a crutch and take today, just today to obstain from this. For me I tend to eat when I am stressed out, or curl up on the coach in front of the television when I need time to myself. For one day, do something different. In place of television, meditate, or go for a walk to clear your head. Or instead of pounding the oreas, eat a mindful healthy snack. The point of this exercise is not to change one’s habits, but simiply to become aware of what your habits are. So we have time for the divine spirit to work in our lives and we not take our temple, aka ourselves, for granted.
